there's two things with 1.0.5 Build 1

1. bbMPEG (muxing and cutting) can fail. (which btw, doesn't have anything to do with the warning box)
2. Chapters doesn't work properly.

Doesn't that about sums it up?

(Yeah, I had a great time in London, expect everything is bl**dy expensive)

Well there is another issue, that some players do display CVD subs but can not show OGT (for instance my player: Mustek V300).

I read that there will be a new version 0.7.12 of VCDXimager which can handle both types of subtitles. That would be GREAT.

Welcome back to the stressful world!

Edit: OK, OK this was another silly post of mine! I just found the CVD subtitle selection and this works perfectly for me.

Sorry :D

And what about:

EDIT: Bad news folks, it seems that only Herberts VCDImager supports the new subtitle format, VCDXBuild fails miserably. Oh, well, I'll fix it when I come back

What do you mean with this?

I meant, that on my player I can only get SVCD subs to work when I use VCDImager, but when I use VCDXBuild it doesn't.

Ok, although my last post was not very clever, here is another one (you may decide if it is clever or not):

If I create a short DVD sample (from 1 or 2 chapters) and use VCDXbuild i get a broken disk image.

Prove: If I burn this image on a disk my standalone and WINDVD can not play it. If I mount the image with DAEMON the image does not work either. I can not even copy the AVSEQ01.MPG file (with explorer) out of the MPEG2 directory (very close to the end of the copy process explorer will issue a strange error message). If I create a disc image with I-Author and convert this .cif image with cdmage to a .cue and then do the tests (as stated above) then everything works just fine (my standalone as well as DAEMON).

However if I test the .cue image (from VCDXbuild) with cdmage it will not report any errors.

Sorry for this long post, but I have done some extensive testing and it is a little difficult to explain.

PS.: I am running W2k on a 1.7P4 processor with 256MB RDRAM.

DVD2SVCD, is it because you can't select the menu?

I have this problem. If i use VCDXbuild, i can't select the menu from the SVCD but i found a solution.
I remove the PBC block from XML and rerun VCDXbuild. That way i can select the menu and thus subtitles. My DVD player doesn't need the PBC block for the chapters so thats great..

p.s. Thats a new feature request from me  Make a checkbox for leaving out the PBC block...
