Hello,
I know this has been brought up a million times already but im having sync issues.
The source is perfect and captured using a Happauge WinTV NOVA-T USB2 external tv card. When i try and encode using autogk/gk i always get sync issues, not sure what the problem is, its only with and GK products - tried it with a couple of others but video quality is bad :(.....
So mr len0x, i urge you to help me with this as you have the most experience since you created it :)
please :)
pretty please :)
ok, ill stop now.

I can explain the audio sync problem but not the perfect solution! Although the WinTV Nova saves the file as an mpeg, it's not a normal mpeg file but a form of transport stream (.ts)
There are quite a few programs that fix the audio in TS files but I'm struggling to find one that works all the time. I've tried Project X (works when it doesn't get out of memory errors), PVA Strumento, Rejig, HDTV2MPEG2, AutoGK, but I find that it depends on the specific recording. It either works in sync with all programs or is out of sync with them all. Bloody annoying!
Have a search on 'transport stream' files for more info

1. Unless you expect an answer ONLY from Len0x, at this point it would benefit to know what combinations you have tried and what happens.
From the older threads ands posts like:

It may be related to your capture(s) process.
2. Can you also upload a short sequence of one of your problematic mpeg2 (or avi) captures?

A portion of one of your captures files (a few Mb), cut with mpg2cut2: http://www.geocities.com/rocketjet4/ , and uploaded at whatever you choose from: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96362

Isn't this basically a duplication of this earlier thread that you started?

Hi,
Is the above question for me? if yes, would you be kind enough to specify it, ie like Setarip_old just did? (@apk)
Answers already given:
2. Can you also upload a short sequence of one of your problematic mpeg2 (or avi) captures? and A portion of one of your captures files (a few Mb)
Knowing that:
-capture (file) is the file resulting from your capture process, extension mpg (codec mpeg1 or 2) avi (codec xxx)
-xvid is the codec used to encode to avi extension (mpeg4 family like divx...)
Which part is not clear enough to understand?
Maybe you are not native to english langage; neither am I. This is why I make efforts to make myself clear but a minimum of vocabulary in common is needed
Edit: still waiting for answer to request 1. thank you. ...what combinations you have tried and what happens.
Edit2: tried to be more polite.
