Hi,
i'm looking for a method to rip and encode with Xvid an instructional DVD with many chapters and getting as the output AVI files corresponding to the number of chapters and named like the internal chapter names as you see them playing the DVD.

Programs like "Xilisoft DVD Ripper" or "No1 DVD Ripper" rip and encode to split "chapter"-AVIs but they name them like "chapter_1", "chapter_2" and so on.

I don't think you will find a program like that because chapter name information isn't on the DVD itself. It is only represented on the menus as pictures or video, not text strings which a program can read. The only possible solution would be a program that checks with a 3rd party database (Like CDDB for CD albums) to get the DVD chapter names, but I don't know of any such database or program.

PS. Moving to Xvid forum. The DVD 1-click forum is for DVD -> DVD backup programs.

Thanks for you answer, i'm afraid you are right :(

I want to check software that encodes a DVD by chapters.

I know the following:

Xilisoft Ripper/ImToo ripper (it's shit, some chapters shake after encode)
DVD Ripper Wizard
No1 Ripper
AoA DVD Ripper

Which more programs of that soft are there in the market?
