is there a download or something to get my dvds to work in the newer dvd players i no its not my dvds cause i have been playing them in my older dvd player i have heard that companys that make dvd players are putting chips or something in them so that they cant play a ripped dvd does anyone if theres any truth to this ??

If your DVD is a proper Video-DVD then it should play on all DVD Players!
Maybe the DVD-R is the problem. Some Players don't like all kind of DVD-R.
Try a different brand...

It sounds like the very frequent problem of media incompatibility. Not every brand/MID/format of burnable media is playable in every standalone DVD player. To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:
