Short story: I installed the Helix YV12 codec and the color displays correctly.

Long Story: I had some problems that I believed to be colorspace conversion errors with my ATSC DVB captures. When watching and capturing 1080i broadcasts with DVBViewer (Sonic Mpeg2 decoder) everyone was PINK! It reminded me of an old television set I had that the color knob wouldn't work. The color was obviously not displaying correctly.

I've run across the problem years ago and it was a colorspace conversion error YUY2 to YV12. When I loaded the AVS script in to Vdub it was converting with the DivX YV12 codec. I installed the Helix YV12 codec and everyone looks normal now. No Pinkies. I don't really know what exactly I corrected. Can anyone diagnose my problem and why my fix worked?

Update: looks like I also need the BT709ToBT601() color conversion filter (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50588) or I experience the problem again during the encode. I don't know whats going on..... :)

Have you tried using VLC Player to watch instead?

The Helix YV12 codec is used for mpeg2 yv12 video when frameserving the transport stream with dgmpgdec and avisynth. VLC media player will play the file fine.
