capture Windows desktop video and audio

How do you do a capture of a video clip with audio that's playing in Windows such as in a browser? Thanks.

I'd suggest a screen capture programme such as HyperCam, which is commercial, of course. But there is said to be a freeware alternative on http://www.sourceforge.net. If this doesn't copy the audio part, you might want to start e.g. Nero's wave editor and record with the "what you here" setting. In this case, however, you need to keep your fingers off any sound-producing action :). When you're done, you'll need to use a video editing programme to add the sound to your clip. Again, sourceforge.net should be your friend.

It appears to feature only audio from a mic input, but you can purchase a mic attenuator from Radio Shack.
