Hi Folks,

on new DVD 9s, I got a funny effect when trying to split them to 2 DVD 5s. If I use DVD Shrink v.2.3 I get the information that the "Main Movie" is only ~ 250 MB (in fact this is only the trailers). When trying to open the DVD with DVD Shrink 3.2 (or DVD FAB Decrypter) it stops with an error message. Copying the DVD with DVD Decrypter (latest version, IO: Patin-Couffin) prior to using Shrink doesn't help at all. DVD Decrypter finds a possible structure protection but obviously does not remove it. I surmise the problem is kinda new way of authoring where the menues are not in the IFOs but somewhere in the trailers or so. Funny enough, the DVD 9s ripped with DVD Encrypter and burned (w.o. splitting, to a DVD 9) can be viewed without problems on computers (with PowerDVD 7) but not on standalone DVD players. Can anyone tell me what is going on here and perhaps how it can be bypassed? I surmise my problems were already discussed somewhere in here but I can't find it... Thanxalot in advance!!!

Use RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/) and import into DVD Shrink 3.2.

Use SPTI, not Patin.

:thanks: for your hint - it's RipGuard, right?!

After some doing this and trying that it seems to me it's better to use Decrypter and FixVTS seperately, fixing one VTS after the other until Shrink is able to process the entire disk - else chapters might get lost...

You can actually run FixVTS after all editing has been done. RipIt4Me does automates the process. Chapters get lost? How?
