Playing movies in windows 95

Im trying to get .avi movies (as in full length films, not 15 second clips) to play on a computer running windows 95(4.00.950a). It has 16 mbs of RAM and a 150 Mhz processor. Is this even possible. I've already tried using divx 3.11 and WMP 6.4 which says a working decompressor cannot be found. Is there some other media player which will work with my system or something else I could try?

except MPEG you cannot playback much. this machine is too old dude :)

with mplayer2.exe and an divx3.11 encoded file I achieved these max. specs for an P1-200-MMX machine:

384x288@25fps: max. 240 kbps bitrate without postprocessing (deblocking) during playback.

mplayer, booted off a specialized minamilistic linux distribution might work for MPEG-1 and low resolution DivX a bit better than mpc or mplayer2 in win95.

Time for a new board and processor... and power supply... and ram.. and hard drive.... and cdrw.. oh wait thats a whole computer... :)

16mb of ram is a bottleneck also for a 150, try to get 32 or 64

use hardware acceleration

and video res of 800x600 or 640x480....

i think that isnt hunnie main computer....

does he must trow the p150, or use like a second computer or network it???

hehe, i began to edit clips with p133 and 32mb, not bad to encode in indeo at 10fps.....
