I've encoded my own .AVI into mpeg-2 and verified that the AVI has perfect sync, but the MPEG-2 soundtrack gets out of sync progressively toward the end of the file (22 minutes long). It plays fine in VLC, but every other player (including burnt to a DVD+RW and played in a set-top box) has some sort of sync problem.
The encoder is Canopus Procoder 2. I've tried both creating a program stream from Procoder, and just a m2v and muxing it myself, and still it's off. My questions:
Is there a tool that can help me find the problem? Like some sort of program/transport stream checker?
What are some of the better muxing programs out there? I've been using an old version of TMPGEnc to mux the m2v and mp2...
I want to note that when I encode the sequence with CinemaCraft, the sync is perfect even using my older muxing tools. But for this particular clip, Procoder produces superior results so I'd really like to use the output... Big thanks to anyone who can help me track this down!
