i just exported an hdv file in mpeg2 format from premiere and
thought i'd see if i could import it into virtualdub-mpeg2 v1.6.15.
wasn't able to. its file extension is m2t and it's a 1080i 25fps
file. anyone know if this might be possible at some time? or am
i just doing something wrong.

thanks,
BabaG

If it's a transport stream then it won't work. Try to open it in DGIndex. If the Stream menu gets activated, then it's a transport stream.

opened an m2t file with dgindex and seemed like the
stream menu was indeed active. guess that means no
m2t files in vdub?

That's correct.

But you can use DGIndex/DGDecode/Avisynth to serve your video and audio into VirtualDub. Please read the Quick Start guide that comes with DGMPGDec.

Another option is to convert the file to an MPEG using (for example) HDTV2MPEG.

I prefer the former approach to get the power of Avisynth processing.
