View Full Version : Tool to convert to 4:2:0 YUV with options

I'm totally new to the video realm, and am currently trying to do some digging to learn what tools are available, and what their capabilities are.
Most of the work I'll be doing will be working with raw video source in 4:2:0 format. Keeping my first questions simple, I'd like to know what would be a good tool to find/use (in a Linux environment) that would be able to do the following for me:

- Convert some given mpeg (2?) or AVI file to a 4:2:0 YUV raw format
- If possible, also allow me to crop and/or resize the original image down/up to a differnet size (for example, to crop/resize down to qcif or cif image size)

And finally, if possible, could you show a simple one-line commandline example using the tool you suggest (so I can get a basic idea of which options I'd want to use to a) convert, b) crop, and/or c) resize?

Big thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the Forum. This request will probably be better served in the Linux Forum. Good luck.
