DivX 6.3 available

To make it short: There's a new DivX version available for download, namely 6.3.0.
Here's what's new:

Version 6.3
released 2006-08-04

New:

* Integrated video conversion, uploading, and publishing to stage6.divx.com .

Improved:

* Includes new DivX 6.2.5 decoder with enhanced video sharpening filters
* Performance and stability enhancements have been implemented
* DivX Subtitles rendering has been greatly improved
* Audio/Video sync issues for some types of malformed files have been fixed


Fixed:

* A stuttering playback problem which occurred on some integrated video cards has been addressed.
* The DivX Player can now play back videos larger than 2 GB
* The DivX Player can play back files that are created using the AVI 2.0 standard.
* The video overlay now resets properly at the end of wmv, asf and other non DivX video files
* Password retrieval via a web browser now works properly

Well, it looks like only the player has really been updated, but nevertheless they write "DivX 6.3" on top of that page...

In the 6.3 bundle new features include DivX Player 6.3 and DivX Converter 6.2.

A new version of DivX codec will be following shortly :)

Actually it IS a newer version. The "old" 6.2.5 has the Build "DivX503b1977p" while the new has "DivX503b1988p".

But as said it still remains 6.2.5, so I guess that only some minor bugs were fixed.

Is it possible to generate DivX encodes with embedded "aspect ratio signalling" (ie: encodes generated with non-square pixels)? And if so, does your new DivX player correctly display such encodes automatically?

Soon = We will be posting a new build this afternoon. In the meantime, you should be able to register the codec by popping it open in VirtualDub, there is a register button on the last tab.

-Rebooted, and now it's tellingme I'm unregistered.

I would like too, to see that option implemented, because i am setting the 4:3 aspect ratio flag for every divx that i make (tv captures to be played on standalone reader), and i have to do it with mpeg4modifier. If i could set it during the encoding process, i would surely save time.
