Problem with video playback

I've been having a strange problem with my system recently. Every time I run a video/movie/DVD, the colors are all messed up. All I get is a mix of blue, turquiose, whites, etc. If I look at regular BMP or JPEG pictures, they look normal. I tried to get some screenshots to show you all, but they look normal. It's only when I play movies that I get it.

Operating system is Win XP Pro SP2, video card is a BFG 6800 Ultra. I've reinstalled the video card drivers, and checked the properties on the video codecs to no avail.

It seems to have showed up after I installed and ran Ripit4me and dvddecrypter+pgcedit with the psl2 plugin. I can't say for sure if they caused it or not, just that afterwards my video was hosed up.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Edit*** found that disabling DirectDraw and DirectX in Display\settings\advanced\troubleshooting fixed the problem, but I don't want to have to do this every time I watch any kind of video/movie.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video adapter, which are available at www.nvidia.com. There was one version of their drivers that could cause what you've described.

I installed the latest version and that worked. I was using an older version. Thank you very much.

You're quite welcome.

(Actually the issue could also have been resolved by adjusting the video overlay settings, but it's more trouble than updating the drivers, and the adjustment would sometimes not hold and have to be reset.)
