lame mp3 encoder

hi!

i just got virtualdub and installed lame mp3, but when i try to fix a avi file, i cant see the LAme mp3 on the compression selection list when i use Full processing. what am i doing wrong, or how do i troubleshoot. pls advice

You need the LAME ACM encoder to use in VDub, you can download it from here (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/LAME_ACM_Codec.htm).

But audio processing in vDub directly is not recommended, you'd better use a tool dedicated for audio processing like BeSweet and the n mux it in your video using VDubMod.

ive installed LAME ACM already, but i still cant see it in my compression list.

According to the VDub forums, here, (http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=15&t=11376) you could try a different build of lameACM. I was having the same problem and couldn't find a build that worked. Here (http://www.4shared.com/file/2871586/7dc9fac0/lameacm_vs2003.html)is the build that I made and it seems to work well.

Try the RareWares build:

Rightclick the LameACM.inf an choose "Install" ^^

I could not get any of the Rarewares builds (3.97b2 or 3.98a6) to work properly for me with VDub.
