View Full Version : Converting my VOB to AVI

I used Auto Gordian Knot to convert a VOB video file to an AVI but when I play the AVI, it's not the whole video.
It's only 45 minutes of the original hour and a half.

And this next question might be related, but when I try to play just my VOB, it won't play. None of the VOB files in the folder will play. They played before, but now they won't. Nothing has changed. This seems like just a random time for them to stop working.

When I convert it to AVI, it plays just fine, it's just not the entire video.

Are your VOBs split ? If so, maybe GK fails in appending them correctly. Just a guess, I never use it.

Just curious why do you want to convert the vob to avi? There may be a better way to achieve what you want than doing that.

The VOB's are split into a bunch of VOB's, but there's a few of them that are the full length video. It always does that when you rip a DVD. I don't know why.
I've used Auto Gordian Knot before to convert my VOB's ripped from DVD's to AVI several times and haven't had this problem.

I'm trying to convert the VOB to AVI I can convert the AVI to WMV and use the WMV in Windows Movie Maker, since it doesn't accept some AVI's.

It always does that when you rip a DVDIs it?

It may help you if you rip the DVD again but this time select the PGC you need for conversion as a single file and see how you get on.

I didn't rip this specific one, I downloaded it as a torrent.

I could view it before, but for some reason it stopped working.

I'm just curious why it would work with the DVD's I own but when I download the file ripped from someone elses DVD, it doesn't work right.
