Hi!
If you are referring specifically to "DVDFab Decrypter", it is freeware.
If you are referring to another of the several similarly named programs from dvdidle, please state the ENTIRE name of the program...

1) What were you doing when you received the error message from DVDFab Decrypter?
2) What is the Region and Title of the DVD you are trying to rip?
3) Is your source DVD an original, commercial, pressed DVD, or a copy?

A Google search of "error 00001000" comes up mostly with Win2K disk I/O errors, indicating a problem with a hard drive. Have you performed any disk maintenance lately to rule this out?
Edit: At which point did you get this error, when you opened the program or when you tried to import files?
