Hi guys n girls

im hoping someone will be able to advise me please, im new to this realm known as doom9

well here is my problem, i have a few avi and mpeg files on my computer i can watch them using media player and vlc media palyer (my prefered choice) i have been using nero 7 to back up these files, and i have succesfuly made a few, however there are a few video clips both in mpeg and avi format that when viewd on the computer work fine and last about 22 minutes each. however when i back them up using nero 7 the file that lasted 22 minutes now only lasts 1 minute 17 seconds, so me being a newbie goes ahead and burns it anyways only to my horror that yes the file only plays for 1 minutes 17 seconds, any ideas how i could get around this problem?

many thanks in advance :)

What are these files and how did you make them?

If this is only one file, it's possible that the file is damaged at the point Nero halts.

In the case of avi you can try scanning for errors using divfix 1.13 (beta) or VirtualDubMod.

Similarly, there are apps around that deal with damaged MPEGs.

If there are multiple incomplete files then disregard the above.
