problem with vdub

i was going to convert a wmv file to divx but i got this error when i was going to open it in vdub-mpeag2 :

couldn't locate decompressor for format wmv3(unkown)
virtualdub requires a video for windows compatible codec to decompress video. directshow codecs,uch as those by windows media player , are not suitable.

so where should i download a decompressor?

Search for WMV9 VCM codec.

thanks. i going to make 2 passes with divx 6 but should i first have the setting multi pass,1 pass and then run a multipass, nith pass?

and does vdub support lame vbr?

Yes it does but it's a bad idea to encode a video soundtrack in VBR as it a cause the audio to be out of sync with the video.
