How does that combination work on your standalone (with divx profile activated of course)? How does it work on a PC (any disadvantages because of the file format?) Better just to stick with cbr perhaps?

I know this must've been asked before but I don't seem to be able to search for vbr and mp3.

In theory MP3 VBR is compatible with DivX profil (Home Theater profil for usual SAP) but in practice not always. MP3 CBR is better for good compliance with SAP ...
