Hello everyone,
Here's a real 'newbie' post for some of you experts to (hopefully) sort out for me.
When I use WinAVI Video Converter to encode certain Xvid files to KVCD format, I get funny purple lines in my output files. I have attached a screen capture to show you what it looks like. I can supply more details if necessary, but I thought it might be something simple. Can someone help me please?
Thanks,
Dave. :)

Just tried the same file with ffdshow and Tmpgenc, no purple lines at all - it's got to be something to do with WinAVI.

So, out of 82 views, nobody has any idea of what this problem is. Mmmmm.

Well I guess you better stop paying us to provide the answer then. Oh wait - this help is FREE. :P
Regarding your question - if the video resolution is not equally divisible by 16 you can run into playback problems - although they usually manifest as green or pink lines rather than purple.

Apparently there are few or no users of WinAVI Video Converter here. My suggestion: if it doesn't work right, don't use it. Have you sought support from the author?
Anyway, your post is starting to look like a rule 6 violation.
