Can someone please provide a link or just tell me what are the advantages of a standalone hardware HD player that carry the "NeroDigital certification"?

Is it true that once a player have this certification it will enable him to play Avi or TS video files with SUB/IDX subtitles without any re-encoding to the video?

I've done some searching in the forum but i could not find the answer.

nerodigital certification means that you can play aac audio and asp video in the .mp4 container with chapters and vobsubs

it doesnt cover avi at all

-> better audio codec with AAC (can make good quality with lower bitrate)
-> better compatibility with mp4 container (no bframe problem, no desynchro problem)
-> better performance for vobsub subtitle (image format without problem for special characters, support specific language like chinese ... etc etc)
