Hi.
I found IFOEdit changing mentioned bit from 1 to 0 while processing a DVD. What information could this decision be based on?
Can you explain a bit about respective fields?
TIA

What do you mean by "processing a DVD"?
There is a well known bug in the IfoEdit's strip functions. The flags and cell command numbers are mixed up by the operation. Therefore, I doubt it results of a "decision".
Anyway, seems nobody knows exactly the meaning and usage of the seamless angle flag. IMO, it is redundant with the seamless joint flag. On some commercial DVDs, it is set apparently without reason.

This bit indicates seamless angles (viewers can seamlessly switch to a different angle with no interruption in playback)
Pointers to different angles are stored in DSI (Data search information)
In contrast to it so called non-seamless angles can have their own audio and subpicture streams but switching by user causes an interrupted playback
Pointers to different angles are stored in PCI (Presentation control information)
Interleaved allocation bit is set in both cases

Thanks for the clarification.
But I've seen this flag set on the cells of a PGC without angles (and without the interleaved allocation flag.) In this case, it doesn't make sense, but I suppose it doesn't hurt.

But I've seen this flag set on the cells of a PGC without angles ..
Spiderman for example....seems it depends on the authoring soft setting this flag without angle
The verifiers dont complain this flag set without having angles
Sonic DVD Producer is such an app

By processing I mean precisely stream stripping, I've tested IFOEdit many times and haven't found the bug you're talking about.
I'm convinced IFOEdit checks for the presence of angles and sets respective flags accordingly, overwriting their original setting.

@Coaster Master - search the forums - there are quite a few posts about this bug in IfoEdit (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/).
For example - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=581447#post581447 and here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=92353).

@blutach:
Please forgive me (I'm newbie), can you help me to trace the bug in IFOEdit?
TIA

Read the threads - they occur when stream stripping. Derrow acknowledged them but never got around to fixing them.

I looked at the threads and compared original and new tables under VTS_PGCITI and saw no differences.
Is there somewhere else I have to put an eye?

Does your source contain angles or not?

No, it doesn't have angles.

The source is probably authored with sonic dvd producer.
This app always sets the seamless angle flag by default, ifoedit modifies this without any consequences
