Hi,

I've recorded some footage with a digital camera. The file format is .ASF (advanced systems format). I would like to edit this footage with adobe premiere, but premiere does not support this file format.

I've read the premiere help and it says it only support the following file formats:

Type 2 AVI, MOV, MPEG/MPE/MPG, Open DML, and WMV

Can someone advice me what to do so i can import the clips in premiere.

Thanks in advance

hi S36d2,

as always, search is your friend :)

here is a link to a guide by doom9 for converting asf files:
ASF / WMV conversion guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/wmvconversion.htm)

and by the looks of things "VirtualDub 1.4c-asf" can process asf files.

also by using "asf converter avi freeware" in google search, i also found many programs, including the (not recently updated) tool: AsfTools (http://www.geocities.com/myasftools/?200627)

so ... have a read, run some of your own searches, try a few of the methods you find and then report back if you have any further problems.

good luck
