VOBrator alternative program.

I was wondering if there is an alternative program out there to look at the vob files so I know what I can demux (eg backup menus and audio, studios opening logos, FBI warning. eyc...). I have been using VOBrator v0.2 beta but it doesn't seem to work right for me. When I play a file it will freeze once I stop it. Then I have to close the program and lookup the file again, then go on to play the next one... when I stop it, it freezes again. I've tried finding something similar to do the same job but cant find anything.

Can anyone recommend something for me ???

you can do that with dvdshrink "reauthor mode"

Thanks 4 the reply, but I'm not trying to reauthor the DVD, I just need the m2v and ac3 files from the Menus, FBI Warnings and Studio Logos.

What I'm doing is taking a menu VOB, and "disassembling" it completely, as to have the FBI Warning Movie in M2V and AC3, the menus (ING, SPA, POR, CHI,...) also in M2V and AC3, and the Studio Logo Movie...

The good thing about VOBrator is that u can preview the IDs and chose which ones u want to demux into M2V/AC3...

PgcDemux - get it from the VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) site. you can use either VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) or PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) to preview first and know which PGCs you need to work on.

Shrink cannot display the VOB and Cell IDs. Chapters are not the same thing (though related.)

I agree with blutach: use VobBlanker or PgcEdit. With PgcEdit, you can preview the full domain, the current title, or each cell independently.

Ive been "recreating" dvds into the DivxMedia format with menus intros subs etc, and when i needed to extract all the menus and intros from the dvd i used dvdshrink like in the above picture and it worked.

when i "reauthored" one of the "extra tiles" i saw that the chapters were identical to the intros

example:
when i clicked "reauthor mode" and selected from chapter1 to 2 that chapter was the initial intro, from chapter 2 to 3 it was the movie company logo.

I know Pgcedit/pgcdemux does that, i was just saying ive done the same with dvdshrink.(wether its the right tool or not i leave it to the pros here)

Yes, you can use Shrink to extract the part of the movie you want to reencode, but that's an unnecessary long process, and it consumes disc space.
(BTW, you have been lucky. Most of the time, the logos at the beginning of the main movie are not in their own chapters, and even not in their own cells.)

Anyway, drako wants to know the VOB/Cell IDs to reencode the right cells directly, like he did previously with VobRator, and that cannot be made with Shrink.

What I'm doing right now, is previewing with VOBBlanker, writing down the IDs that I wanto to Demux and then using PGCDemux to extract the menus and so on...

What I would like to know, is if there is a way to demux more than one ID at a time.... Like select 5 or more and the demux all at once...

I have a VOB with 175 IDs, and I would like to demux 100 of them...

Is there a way...

DVDDemuxer from DVD-Logic can do this...but its not freeware

Maybe we can persuade jsoto to broaden pgcdemux

I've got to tell u, I must have been living on a cave, for not knowing such a piece of software...

This DVDDemuxer from DVD-Logic, is THE piece of software to be owned by everyone who needs total decompilation of a DVD.

I'm really thankfull to bigotti5, for introducing me to this program. I'm buying it right away...

Concerning PGCDemux, It is a great tool indeed, but lacks support for previewing and selecting IDs for demuxing, in my opinion...
