RipIt4Me or PGC Edit's PSL2

I had a problem with Resident Evil 2 R1 last night where RI4M did manage to rip it but didn't clean it up very well. So I used PGC Edit's PSL2 wizard, which detected the cells to remove and I got a great image. DVD Shrink could open both folders produced by the two prog, but when I went to encode (movie only with no compression) the one produced by RI4M said it was going to take over 3hrs to finish compared with 15min with the other.

So my question is, what does PGC Edit's PSL2 wizard do differently than RI4M since both used FixVTS? I did have to load the FinalPSL file and FixVTS manually ...could that have been the problem and if so, should I just have started up
RI4M and gone through again.

Yes, I think perhaps something might have not gone quite right in the process. Without the logs etc, we can't tell for sure.

However, it is worthy to note that the plugin, while not being quite as easy to use as RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/), is technically perfect in my book. And you can't beat the price of either one, can you?

Both of these programs are worth paying for in my book, but of course I prefer the current pricing.

Next time I'll pay more attention to what I'm doing and see if I should just have run it through with RI4M using the Wizard instead of the 1-click mode. Either way, I did get a good clean rip that both DVD Shrink and Auto GK liked. I've had my problems with audio out-of-synch issues with AGK, due to what I thought were clean rips.

I believe the tiny cells are related to your AGK issues. I saw something in the RI4M guide about that.

I just did this movie RE2 R1 WS/FS version crc value of 0xBDCA0C8C using the latest release of RI4M and had no problems at all.
I did full disk in 1-click and wizard and movie only in 1-click and wizard. I had no complaints at all from DVDS.
You must have got ahead of your self or something on one of the steps because as I said RI4M worked flawlessly on this title.

In some cases (still not very clear) the sound is desynchronized when playing the main title on a standalone. (Take care, this desynchronization is generally not perceptible when played with a software player on a PC!) By removing the unnecessary cells, the sound desynchronization should be fixed. If you are going to use AutoGK (or something like that), you need to remove the protected cells from the IFOs and VOBs because of a "bug" in DGindex, which causes mis-sync in the audio/video."

I think what I did was when I told it to ignore the file it couldn't read (similar to PGC Edit's Wizard) I loaded the final psl file and ripped the remaining file manually. Doing it that way, I think I didn't let RI4M set up FixVTS causing my issue. So yes I agree it was probably user-error. even when I ran FixVTS manually, it didn't clean it up, so I used PGC Edit's wizard and started from step three, which tagged the effected areas and ran it through FixVTS. Doing it this way tells me that I am not setting up FixVTS effectively.

I have both boxes ticked in FixVTS (www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS) - AFAIK, there is no further setup.
