Sony DVD recorder firmware upgrade

Hi peep's I have a Sony RDR-HX710, I want to copy some VHS tapes on to DVD and the recorder says they are copy protected, my question is there a firmware hack for this machine, thanks!!!!!!

lol, sony and there firmware. I had to downgrade the firmware for my psp just to play emulators. :rolleyes:
