XviD full screen problems

Hi,

I am new to XviD.
I have tried the forum search but I cannot find an answer for my specific problem.
I have a few xvid files with a resolution of 608 x 336 and they play fine using videolan or media player classic when viewed in a window at that size. But as soon as I go full screen in either player I get pink vertical lines randomly flashing on the screen.
My PC resolution is 1280 x 1024.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
Has anyone got any ideas as to how I can fix this?

OK, hint taken.

It also happens when I encode my own files to this resolution, or resolutions which are close to this but still divisible by 16, and then try to display them full screen.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

if it's in any player it sounds like a driver issue. try changing the output render in media player clasic to the VMR modes and see if any works. Also update/downgrade your video drivers.

Do you know when scaling up to full screen, whether there is a limit as to how much you can scale? For example, I am scaling over twice their original size, could this also be causing an issue?

Thanks for that, VMR9 seems to work, I will give it a good test over the next couple of days.
I cannot find an equivilent setting in VLC, do you if one exists?

no idea for VLC - I stay as far away from it as possible :P
With some video cards there are problems with the visual quality of VMR9, you'll have to check and see. Common problems are green tint, strange resizing and borked levels. It's also a bit slower than overlay, so not an ideal solution, but what works works. If VMR7 works use that instead.
The one advantage it has is that you can now use prntscrn to take screenshots.
