Audio not capturing

Hi, I am running a reinstalled windows xp, 1 gig mem, pentium 3, with an osprey-500 video and audio capture card. When I try to capture an avi from a panasonic PV-GS150 camcorder the video comes out great but the audio isn't there. During the capture itself it looks like it is capturing the audio at 48 khertz and the audio can be heard on the camcorder. The beta deck we have captures audio and video fine through the osprey. We are using fire wire and I have been thinking that may be it is the fire wire port.
Any help on this would be greatly apreciated, thank you in advance.

I think you better use your Panasonic software to capture in native DV-AVI format.
That would avoid driver incompatibilities :)
