Is it possible to encode extras only and keep the Rest as it is?? I searched the forum, but found nothing usefull.

Files are going from VTS_01_0.VOB - VTS_01_5.VOB and the total size is 4,6GB

I only want to encode the extras a bit so that it fits an a DVDR (i.e. 4,37 GB)

Thx for your help

If you reduce the extras to a point where the feature will fit without reencoding -- DVD-RB will automatically recognize that fact and keep the feature intact.

I want to reencode them :) Main MOvie is only 3,8GB and the extras are the rest. The original DVD was first 7GB but than i stripped the extras i do not need and now I have these 200MB which are too much :(

Exactly. If you lower the bitrate on the extras to a point where they would take only .52GB (4.32GB - 3.80GB = .52GB) -- they will be reencoded to the smaller size (but to get that reduction you'll probably need some blanking and slideshow selections). The feature will not be reencoded (because there is enough room for it to be copied intact).

With the new editor you should be able to move the slider up to 100%, then blank/slideshow/reduce each of the extras until the overall size gets down to 4.32GB. When you click on the feature you will see that it is still at 100%.

@Penecho
Are you using the Pro version?
I'm always wondering why people didn't give this basic information. :rolleyes:

If pro the probably easiest way is to set steal space from extras to 50%.
If you get the message
-- FEATURE does not require reencoding.
after prepare you're done. :)

This is the result of another great improvement introduced with 1.09 pro:
- ENHANCEMENT: Added code to enhance the functioning of automatic "no reencoding" feature introduced in v1.08. Now any space reallocated due to "Steal Space" or the "Half/Half" functions that is not needed to enable the "no reencoding" extraction is returned to the Extras. This allows you to "overkill" in order to force extraction -- but the amount of actual reduction will only be what is truly necessary.
