View Full Version : Video and audio out of synch

I recently tried playing back an AVI of a movie backup I received. The avi plays in windows media player, but the video freezes momentarily and then commences as though a tape was jammed for a second and then it catches up, this also has the effect of getting the audio out of synch. This anomoly continues through the whole movie and happens 4 or 5 times a minute. As you can tell I am very new at this, and am definitely at the bottom of a very steep learning curve. I suspect the problem is with the DivX associated with the AVI. I actually want to burn this to a DVD, but if it wont work properly on AVI playback, all I will produce are coasters if I try to burn the AVI to a DVD. Any help and suggestions very much appreciated.

... of a movie backup I received....You are apparently unable to learn. Struck for a repeated Rule 6 violation.

Obviously you cant help me.
We can provide all manner of helpful suggestions here at Doom9, but we can't help on problems that so obviously lie outside our ruleset. A few minutes of reading the Rules would have given you a good idea of what issues we can and cannot provide support. This is not one.
