incompatible medium

While trying to use my decrypter when I put the dvd in I got a
message saying incompatible medium. What does that mean?
Can anyone tell me I'm not very good at this.

This doesn't seem to be anything to do with DVD2SVCD/VCD/SVCD, so I'm moving it.

I notice no help has been forthcoming so far. Perhaps providing more information, such as what disc you are trying to decrypt, the make and model of your DVD reader drive, what software you're trying to use and so on, might pay dividends.

Seems like the drive can't read the DVD.

Are you putting a CD in and not a DVD? Or can your drive read DVDs? If these basic things are OK, try cleaning both disk and drive.

I had a LiteOn DL DVD+-RW that had the same problems when trying to do rips when I bought it. Had to upgrade the firmware. Try that.
