Hello all,

I have a problem: i rebuilt "Die Hard" (PAL) which contains an ILVU Section for the extended Version (1 Minute longer). Rebuilding worked fine, but during Playback on my Denon Standalone, on the ILVU section the video freezed, audio continued. It works fine with PowerDVD.

I'm using procoder2, but I just tried QuEnc too, it does not matter.

DVD was completely untouched, i'm using the lastest version of DVD-RB Pro.

I also tried to remove the ILVU and the PGC with DRM-PRO to keep the extended Version only, after rebuilding the picture freeze a little bit later (cant believe it...)

You're not using OPV by any chance, are you?

no, normal 2pass encoding.

the freeze is only at the ilvu section, so I dont think it has to to with the encoder (just my 2 cents)

edit: i encoded again with quenc, and this time it worked.

i will test it with cce too, and give feedback.

in the last few days, i tested encoders: with cce it does work too...

so the problem is procoder. but what is the difference between procoder output and cce output?

My guess would have to be that some of the necessary parameters aren't being applied from the ECL -- possibly by ECLPRO? For example, limiting the maximum bitrate is crucial in ILVU as is fixed GOP sizing. DVD-RB also uses closed GOPs for ILVU.

I'll go back and test ProCoder on some hard ILVU and see what results I get.
