I have a dual-core CPU, and over a GIPS-year of transcoding to do on it. The FAQ states that Auto-GKnot is happy to work with multiple cores, but it needs the codec to support multiple threading natively to get the full benefit from it.
Do I:
1. Run two instances of Auto-GKnot at the same time, one for each core?
2. Search the relevant MPEG-4 codec fora for the relevant information.
3. Compare the transcoding speed using one core to that with both cores, and deduce the optimum configuration for myself?
