I have a .mpg2 file that I made using Vegas. Basically i want that mpg2 to be the main movie on my dvd. It is 2.5 gigs. When i try to burn that file with DVD Architect 3.0, DVDA, forces me to "optimize" and recompress my audio, which leaves me with a much lesser quality audio than my original mpg2 file.

How can i prevent this?

your video+audio's total bitrate should NOT exceed 10M, or DVD architect will recompress, since it's a DVD tech limitation. It doesn't depend on your video file size, just the total bitrate of your video and audio, so for example if you are using only one LPCM for audio which has a bitrate of 1500K, your average video bitrate should stay under 8000K.

other reasons for recompress might be your video is NOT totaly DVD compatible, try to use vegas template like DVD architect NTSC(PAL) video stream.

i did use the DVD NTSC Template in Vegas.

I set the vegas settings to be 256k/sec bitrate, why is DVD A forcing me to recompress. Does anybody here know how to use DVD A well enough so that I can avoid this? I can't seem to prevent this step before burning.
