When I go to

http://www.free-codecs.com/

I can find two (!) Xvid codecs:

1.) Koepis:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Koepi_XviD.htm
and

2.) Nics:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Nic_XviD_Codec.htm

What are the differences?
Which is the most widely used?

In this case Koepi's is a 1.2 CVS build and Nic's is 1.1beta2. Further Koepi's was probably built with ICL7 and Nic's with ICL9.

Why is knowing the more widely used important? I'd say that Koepi's 1.1final or 1.0.3 build is probably the most widely used. Out of the two above... I have no idea. Definatly overall Koepi's builds would be the most common.

I like some of the comments though. Fact is that both as far as I know are just CVS builds, no modifications. So the only real difference is the installers. Other than the fact that Koepi's build in this case is using newer code.
