Hello, last night just before I went to bed I started to encode Shaun of the Dead at 6 passes. Before the encode I editied the VTS Cells with ECL Optimizer to get the highest possible bitrate for the video. Though before I go on with problem comes a question about ECL Optimizer. My question is once I edit and save the ecl file do I have to close and reopen DVD Rebuilder before the changes are put into effect or are they automatic. Any answers to my first question will help me out a lot. On to my second question/problem. I woke up and had a look at the log and am not sure if what I saw was a problem or not. What i saw can be viewed below or in the attached log file and is in bold. My question is do I have a problem and do I have to start encoding right from the beginning or is their a way to continue from the point where I recieved the error message. My second question is could ECL Optimizer have caused this. And my third question is if there is a problem how can this be prevented in the future. Thank you for quick comments as always and you great help.

You should be ok. It looks like the encoder didn't produce the M2V on the first attempt, but since DVD-RB retries it automatically (up to three times), it appears that the second attempt correctly created the M2V file.

The warning message it just to give you a heads up that there may be an instability in your system.

and regarding my question to ecl optimizer could you shed any light on some of things I asked in my previous post.

Sorry I don't know much about ECL Optimizer -- but I gotta say that I wouldn't recommend using any software to modify the ECLs that have been created with DVD-RB because it is unlikely that everything is taken into account. For example: the average bitrate and maximum bitrate for NTSC has to be adjusted to allow for the fact that 29.97 streams are being encoded at 23.976 (to facilitate hybrid streams)... if it isn't done correctly you will end up with stutter. That's only one of a long list of reasons.

If you make a decision to use the packages anyway... please remember that any problems you encounter are "self inflicted" -- not DVD-RB.
