I just did a copy of my DVD Starwars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith with menu encoding enabled and saw a strange behavior with Buttons Over Video. The overlay is not always displayed, preventing me to see which button is selected. For example, when selecting the Chapters item in main menu then going back to main menu, selected button does not have an overlay. The same thing happens in the Language menu. Buttons are displayed but when I select a subtitle stream, the overlay disppears. I both reproduced it with Power DVD 6.0 and Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0. Here is my config:
DVD-RB 1.10.2 with menu encoding enabled
HCenc 0.18
Rip done with RipIt4Me 1.4.0.0
DVD was not edited before encoding
Source is working fine with buttons always appearing in both PDVD and MPC.

Regards,
Pasqui.

Is it the NTSC version? I'll give it a test run.

It is the PAL version. I tried without menu encoding, and as I expected it worked correctly.
If it can helps, I will attach the ifo files from original, after the copy without menu encoding, and after the copy with menu encoding enabled.

You might want to compare the menu from the original and DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/) output with DVDSubEdit. These vanishing buttons usually have to do with a stop code being issued.

And you are talking about regular menus, right? Not BOV (which are buttons in the titles domain).

You're right, it deals with normal menu buttons. Sorry for the confusion.
