I need some input on this player. As far as I can tell, it's practically the same as the 5140 except for the DivX Ultra Certification. But I'm able to get it about 20 bucks cheaper than the 5140. As far as firmware goes, do you think this unit will get updates? Thanks.

I bought one and must say that Im impressed. The only thing
that confuses me is that it doesen seem to automaticly load the textfile for a specific movie even if they have the same name.

I have a friend who has this player. There is one major flow I've seen. The 3040 has a problem with some video files looking "stuttery". It was posted on another board that:

As far as a I know, it is the *combination* of both packed bitstream and 2 consequtive b-frames that cause the problem with mediatek-based chipsets.


Since the 5140 has the same chipset, I'm trying to find out if this problem exists with that player as well, before purchasing one. I've seen the problem first hand on the 3040, but am hoping it is solved with the 5140.
