In the U.S. this company is selling an HD movie service (over-the-air broadcast) using a box based upon the SD EM8622L. Tech info is here (http://www.moviebeam.com/opencms/opencms/Pages/WhatIsMovieBeam/TechInfo.html) and I found some internal pics at the following:

Regular price is $200US but currently it's offered for $99. Some guys over at linux-hacker.net are trying to figure the thing out. But I don't know how you'd acquire a box unless you are in one of their service areas.

Frankly their whole "$5 rental" approach looks DOA to me; I have no use for it myself.

It's the appearance of an EM8622L product (FINALLY!), for $99, and potentially hackable, that I find to be of interest...
