I'm new to all this even though i registered ages ago, i've been away. I have a problem with a DVD i'm trying to encode into avi with either xvid or divx, no preference on either :)
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to turn deinterlacing on please
Thanks in advance

Oh, now that's too general a question :)
Briefly, if you have a common movie DVD, you most probably did something wrong during the DGIndex procedure...
Else, there are too many scenarios for me to give you a concise answer.
I would recommend you to read this:
http://www.doom9.org/video-basics.htm
to be able to understand the different types of interlaced video.

Hi!De-interlacing with VDub/mod...I was wondering if someone could tell me how to turn deinterlacing on pleaseFrom the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Filters" and click on the "Add" radiobutton.
Scroll down the list of filters (internal plus any you've installed) and choose the deinterlace filter that best suits your needs...
