How to convert Type1 to Type 2?

HI, I read the faq and am not sure about this.

It says I have to convert my captured type1 dv-content to
type 2

How do I do that?

I have no other video editing software other than vdubmod
(with mainconcept dv codec installed but cannot handle the
audio) and windows moviemaker. eek!
