This should be a really easy one to answer!
I've just completed a DVD project, I've authoured it and I've ended up with a video_ts and audio_ts folder.
Now I want to make a nice 4.3 Gb .img file.
I don't want to burn a DVD first, and then import it but rather covert the 2 DVD folders into a .img file right away.
Any suggestions?

your dvd authoring tool should be able to output iso/img file.
if not, you can try imgtool classic to output iso file from dvd root folder.

I'm using DVDReBuilder. I havn't seen such an option. Is .iso equally good as .img files? There must be some difference?!

iso is not recognized as a DVD image by Nero (and possibly others), but only as a CD image.

Hi!iso is not recognized as a DVD image by Nero (and possibly others), but only as a CD image. Please clarify - as I've just now used NERO to both create a perfectly good .ISO image file of the DVD "Matador" (select "Image Recorder" rather than burner and then choose ".ISO" for format) and to burn a perfectly good DVD (select "Burn Image") of "Pal Joey" from an .ISO created by the "miksofs" program from within PGCEdit...

Maybe it's just the iso's I've used were intended for CD then (these were small sample DVD-Video and HD-DVD disks). Trying to burn them to DVD resulted in Nero asking me to replace the recordable DVD with a recordable CD.

Thanks for clarifying that. For a minute, I thought I might be in possession of a one-of-a-kind, super special version of NERO ;>}

...it seems .img has the overhand just as I thought.
So does anyone have a suggestion on how to make such a file from a Video_TS folder?

it seems .img has the overhand just as I thought. When read in its entirety, there is nothing in this thread that indicates that to be the case...

Although one might arguee if there is really an advantage using .img images I have now found a way to create them from a video_TS folder.
Just download ImgTool Classic (make sure you get the classic version and not ImgTools Burn)
http://www.coujo.de/
Then start ImgTool, select yor DVD root folder. Then your image filename and choose .img as the filetype.
Enter a dvd label and your set. :cool:
