after completing a compressibility check, i click 'save and encode', but in the 'trim' box, the only options available are 'no trim' and 'movie only'... i do not have the option of 'trim credits' or 'both(enc. credits separately)'...i set the credits start point, but how am i supposed to get GK to encode the credits separately if it doesn't give me the option...i read somewhere that you can change the xvid encoder settings to do this, but i don't know how...any help would be much appreciated.

cheers,

Assuming you're using the full Gordian Knot and are encoding a DVD rip, just select your range in DGIndex first, trimming out the credits.

You don't need to encode the credits separately if you plan to keep them - selecting the start point using the Credits start button will encode them at a lower bitrate for you, no external reprocessing or splicing necessary.

after screwing around a bit with GK last night i figured out that divx gives the option of appending and encoding the credits at a lower bitrate, while xvid just does it automatically...i was trying to do something that was already being done for me without me knowing it...thanks for the response CWR03.
