Going to back up fun with dick and jane(pal,uk) which is a arccos disc. Now the last time i backed up a arccos all i needed to do was demux by vobid and then in scenaid was to untick the first id and scenaid replaced with a blank. I have looked at the ifo file for this film which has around 50 cells before the film first 10 being 00:00:00:00 but then the rest are ether 00:00:00:01 or 00:00:00:2, now i was thinking do the same demux by vobid then untick the first id only problem is theres 2 ids and the second vobid has 40 of those cells then goes straight to the film. Anyone else done this film ??

Try using the newly released RipIt4Me v.1.2 to properly rip the R2 version of this DVD.
You can get this efficient, new program at:

That's correct. Just exit the program after the ripping is completed (Uses DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 and FixVTS to accomplish this)...
There are a few other threads here lately with Arccos disks that might be useful as well.... we may be looking at adding these to DIF initially to get rid of a few of the steps.... (D3s7 has to do more reading first... )

Yeah i did have a butchers through some of the other threads in the decrypting section. I used that ripit4me program, seems sweet, after it had finished those 40 odd 00:00:00:01 had gone and the last vts set removed as it was one of those fake set with 1H36M of nothing which was taking up around a 1GB. Now i just need to create a iso with the file then do the normal with dif4u,scenaid etc..

I used that ripit4me program, seems sweetGlad to hear my suggestion worked for you ;>}
wonder if that app has any sort of CLI support... be interesting to add that as a pre-processing step..
i'm so behind on these new protection methods... need to catch up

@D3s7
Hi!wonder if that app has any sort of CLI support...If it does, it hasn't been made public knowledge - and the author has chosen to be anonymous...
to be honest d3s7, i am not sure if including a front-end to clean up these copy protections is such a worthwhile excercise, as dif4u et al work from iso images.
so ... you would have to work out a way to identify whether processing was required, then run ripit4me (or work out a way to use fixvts and dvddec yourself) then re-image the 'fixed' files and mount in-lieu of the original image .... ugggghhhh ...
personally i think the users of the big 3 tools are smart enough to know when to use these 'protection fixing tools'. i would think that it was of more importance to see if there is any impact that the output of these tools has in relation to how dif4u/numenu/scenaid work.
well thats my 2c anyways.

Well dif4u demux the new iso after using ripit4me, but when i use numenu as the menu is 320mb and has 3 language units when automate_scenarist starts up it gets to ' create new scenario from script window found ' and then it just hangs there and does nothing. I have numenu set to use original footage as all i am doing is remove the 2 non english language units. Not sure if this is numenu playing up or not. I tried using ifoedit to remove the languages like i have before but the file comes out at 100k which seems wrong. Any ideas ??
In the numenu scenarist tab set it to manual setting. This will force numenu to pause untill you tell it to continue after scenarist has finished.

its not numenu as i have just found out. For some reason if i click on new from script scenarist does'nt open up but it is in the process' menu, and if i open scenarist by going new then once in scenarist i go file -> import scenarist just crashs. Have no idea why, it's never done this before.
Only difference between now and the last time i used scenarist is i have 2GB of ram and a AMD 64 X2.
