Uh oh. Adobe has Flash Player 9

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but while on Yahoo's website, a popup came up and asked if I wanted to install "Adobe Flash Player 9". If this is true, and Macromedia has relented to Adobe, could we see other Macromedia products (like Flash) go their way too? Or will Adobe's acquisition (not sure if that's spelt right) of Flash Player mean it'll get better from here on in? I thought that Macromedia did a pretty good job of their Flash Player...

You must have missed it, but Adobe owns Macromedia now. I'm just surprised they're rebranding everything so quickly. (The only thing that will likely go up is price, not quality, the Adobe way.)

The two companies merged a long time ago :D They kept the Adobe brand name, but it was very much an equal merger from what I gathered. Methinks it will not make much difference for future products...
