Could some one give me a clue on this. I have been encoding shows from my dish network 508 that I extract as a mpg using pvrexplorer into avi's using autogk.

My earlier encodings looked like the pixel monster and I learned that I have to enable ESS suport. So I did.

Now I get blue faces with Xvid, DIVX 5.2.1 and divx 6.

I downloaded a test cd from http://www.divxtest.com/ and outside of one or two cuts, it plays fine, no blue faces.

All my encodes look just fine on my computer of course.

The dvd player is a Phillips DVP642 software VER1223 01 E 1.

Thanks for any ideas on this. I've been beat on this for 2 weeks and now I'm asking for help.

Hello and welcome to the forum! (Most people only have to wait 5 days.... you waited 18 months.)

Remove and re-install, this time with ESS Standalone support, per the tutorial. Your standalone requires it.

Well, I didn't want to rush in with a question.

I use the ctrl-f9 option to set ess. Gets rid of pixel monsters but I cant get rid of blue faces.

Thanks,

That isn't the issue.
