Were the calculations changed in the new version of DVD-RB?

The segment viewer/editor had some changes. This could be related to that. I'll take a look at it.

Also, something strange that I noticed in the segment viewer/editor was the dvd output size 3.05 GB. Here is a pic to dispaly what I'm talking about.

Hmm.. it's supposed to do that when you are editing -- because it is designed so you can dynamically reallocate the space where you want it. But it should give the space to the feature when you select "Movie and Menus Only" -- it may be a bug in the new editor.
Try deselecting "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor" and run the PREPARE again. When you select "Movie and Menus Only" an automatic edit is executed that blanks all the extras. This is exactly the reason I made the editor "beta" -- there are a lot of complexities that need to be tested.

The output iso from this session ended up being 2.92 GB.
Here is the PREPARE with "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor" deselected.

The concept of the new editor is that it doesn't reallocate your savings automatically to the feature. Moving bits from one segment/vts to another is left up to you, the editor. So when the other portions were blanked -- the space wasn't automatically recovered. It will work correctly (the old way) if you don't select the new editor/viewer.
I'll have to look at the code and find out why it didn't adjust for the automatic blanking. It should have. It's a bug in the beta portion (the segment editor/viewer) that I'll have to get worked out for the next release (hopefully in the next day or two). I'd like to see if anything else is discovered with the beta software before I slam out another version.

Good point jdobbs, that leaves us full control over the bit allocating, getting a more advanced approach :D I'll do some testings for slidebar accuracy and space limits and report if I notice anything unpleasant :)
cheers

It's a lot more friendly with series discs since it doesn't allocate all the saved bits to the largest PGC (episode)...

Ok. I fixed this one. The update will be in v1.10.2. When the "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor" was selected, the automatic update performed by the editor for either of the "Movie and Menus Only" and "Movie, Menus, and Slideshow" modes was not being saved correctly (it was using the "new editor" method).
In the meantime, if you are doing your encodes in either those modes -- make sure you turn "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor" off first.

Thanks for the update. Looks like the problem was fixed. This PREPARE was with "Use Beta (test) Viewer/Editor" selected.

Cool. I actually fixed it yesterday, but just to be sure I ran several "Movie and Menus" only encodes to test it before the release today.
