Hi and welcome to the forum,

1/ AutoGK is NOT GPL and the author has stopped development. So, ATM, nobody except Len0x can make a new AGK

2/ AGK is bundled with VirtualDubMod and NOT VirtualDub. You are free to mix/mess with new versions (VDM 1.5.10.2 works but problems may occur) or VDub.

There are news about core management and hyperthreading, maybe it won't even be necessary to upgrade the proggs?

Edit: It's called:
-Reverse HT (HyperThreading) for AMD and
-Core multiplexing for Intel
It will be supposed to join threads (and core work) in case needed :)

I doubt that AutoGK will even work with VirtualDub-MPEG2, and since the software (and its bundle) are no longer being developed, I'm sure the answer will still be "no." Even if it were simply bundled with it, how would that help you since you can just download it separately?

Hmmmm

Basic question: what do you want to do?
Aka: what speed gain do you aim for?

Basic answer: if encoding gain wanted (xvid) use the latest 1.2 xvid which can be multithreaded; discussion here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=107783

I do not (yet) own a dualcore so I can only speculate :)
