Ok I bought 2 copies of this, both were legidimate and sealed, I installed one on my computer, works great, then a copy for a friend... and he is having problems that I just dont know how to solve.

Message 1: cannot run because dvd drivers are not installed properly

Message 2: dvdxcopy needs to install several drivers before we can proceed with the rest of the installation. after the driver installation you Must reboot your computer. Selecting OK will reboot your computer. the setup will comtinue after you reboot

Message 3: dvdxcopy had a registration error durring installation. Please reboot your computer, and attempt installation again. if this problem persists, please contact technical support

Hi!
From the site:

http://www.dvdxcopy.com/

CAUTION: Authentic DVD X Copy software is no longer being sold anywhere. Many "closeout", clearance, auction and discount websites are selling fake DVD X Copy Software products and "patches" that are not authentic, CANNOT be activated or are cracked versions that DO NOT WORK properly and/or that contain spyware.

Assuming that each copy you purchased is legit (just because one is -- or at least, one WORKS -- doesn't really automatically make the other so, unfortunately) it sounds like there were a chain of issues here. The first messages -- regarding the drivers and installation thereof -- are most likely unrelated to the registration error, and cleared themselves once your friend rebooted. It's my understanding that, as setarip_old indicated, registering this software is not possible at all... I beleive DVDXCopy was shut down some time ago. Were you asked to register the copy that resides on your own hard drive? Some cracks for some software (nope! I won't spill any beans!) will elliminate these screens as well as the need for them... It could well be possible that your version was simply better cracked than your friend's. Pirated software is, unfortunately, pretty rampant in certain markets; many a Windows owner has been awakened to this fact once Microsoft started sending notices to users of unregistered software that their serial codes aren't legit (I beleive it was the Windows Update feature that provided Microsoft with this information, but I could be wrong). It was news to the users, who thought their operating systems were the real deal! Please check out the link setarip_old provided, if you haven't done so already, and try for a refund where you purchased your copy. If they won't do it, please know that you have several no-to-low-cost alternatives out there that will do a very similiar job without the headaches.

Good luck!
