Jerky PAL video [Archive]

I recently got a pal interlaced video in dvd format. After watching that video I was clearly able to conclude that the video was originally in ntsc format(23.976 or 29.97 fps) & has been wrongly encoded due to which the motions in the video are jerky. Can anyone tell me on how to remove the jerkiness from that video? I just need the correct avisynth script to bring the video to its original frame rate so that I can encode it correctly to pal vcd format.

Another possible cause is that the field order is incorrect. You should upload an unprocessed sample clip somewhere so people will have a chance to look at it, otherwise it's very difficult to help you.

A sample would be indeed very helpful (30 seconds are fully sufficient).

But I would assume for now that you can't do anything about it.
I assume you don't have a Movie DVD, but an Anime one or something else.
Those are most of the time purely interlaced with ghosting.
Your only option here is to deinterlace using blending. This can be achieved automatically when you resize to VCD size (no need to apply a deinterlacer).
Remember that motion will remain jerky with this, I mean the motion is probably jerky even when you watch on TV...

Sometimes by using CDeblend and diligently following scharfis_brain's posts, you can mostly reverse almost any damage, but it costs a lot of time, tweaking, and frustration if it isn't immediately amenable to CDeblend.

Oftentimes it's easier to just take it back and find a ntsc disc though (that's the usual answer to fieldblending questions), or another pal region's in hopes it was converted less crappily.

well uploading a portion of it will consume time for me. u guys must have some idea of the script that should b used in such cases ?
